Quick answer

Una National Park was established in 2008 and is the largest national park in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its best-known waterfall, Štrbački buk, is about 24.5 m high. The park is about 300 km from Sarajevo (five hours or more by road), so plan at least one night nearby.

Worth the long drive

The Una is one of the clearest rivers in the Balkans, and the national park protects its upper course near the border with Croatia. It is far from Sarajevo, so we usually add it to longer trips: Jajce on the way, then two nights near Bihać.
