Quick answer
Visoko is only about 38 km from Sarajevo — around half an hour by road. The town is known for its leather-making tradition and for Visočica hill, which some promote as the 'Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun'; geologists consider it a natural hill, but the site, its tunnels and park attract many visitors. The area was also the heart of the medieval Bosnian kingdom.
Leather, legends and kings
Visoko has two reputations. One is very old: a town of tanners and leather workers in the valley of the Bosna river, close to the castles where medieval Bosnian kings were crowned and buried. The other is recent: the claim that Visočica hill is a pyramid, which brought visitors from around the world.

Whatever you make of the pyramid, Visoko is an easy half day from Sarajevo — a walk on the hill, a look around the leather shops and, with more time, the royal sites of Bobovac and Kraljeva Sutjeska to the north.
